Voices from the Pandemic Wins Mom's Choice Award

Voices from the Pandemic (Headline Books, 2020), a collection of memoirs from professional and student writers documenting the unique times of 2020,

has won a Gold Mom's Choice Award for family-friendly media, products and services. Edited by Don Helin, Voices from the Pandemic has earned significant recognition, including a stint on the Amazon best-seller list and New England Book Festival and New York Book Festival recognition.

I was honored that my memoir, Pocket of Peace, was selected for inclusion in the book. My story documents one day in June, a day that found the country reeling from civil unrest, the occupation of Seattle, and heated political commentary--all in the midst of COVID-19 shutdowns and health fears.
